Today, we gather with heavy but grateful hearts to honor the life of our beloved sister in Christ, Diane L. Kelly.

Diane, a lifelong resident of the Mt. Pleasant area, passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2025. She was 70 years old. Born on September 30, 1954, Diane lived a life rooted in love, service, and family. A graduate of Southmoreland High School’s Class of 1972, she worked for many years at Amtrak in Philadelphia and later retired as a certified nursing assistant for Westmoreland County.

Diane was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, also known as The Reformed Church, here in Scottdale. She brought with her a heart full of compassion, a ready smile, and a quiet strength that touched so many in our congregation. Whether cheering for her beloved Steelers, sharing stories of her travels, or doting on her precious grandchildren, Dominic and Gianna, Diane lived with a spirit of joy and devotion.

Those who knew Diane will remember her fierce loyalty to family — her two children, Stacey and Hunter, her two brothers, David and Donald, and the many cousins, nieces, and nephews who were blessed by her love and presence. Her heart of gold and her steady faith will remain a part of us always.

Today’s memorial service is a celebration of a life well-lived, a soul well-loved, and a faith well-kept. We take comfort in the promises of our Savior — that love never ends, that life is changed, not ended, and that one day we will be reunited around a table where there are no more goodbyes.

As we honor Diane, we give thanks for the countless ways she reflected God's light into the world — in big ways and in small, day after day.
