Ephesians Bible Study – Rooted in Love, Strengthened in Spirit

Mondays @ 7 PM (Virtual via Google Meet)Begins December 1, 2025Open to all — not just our congregation. To receive the meeting link, email Pastor TJ at pastor@lovestrucc.org.

Why Ephesians — and Why Now?

In a world that feels more divided, distracted, and uncertain than ever, Paul’s letter to the Ephesians offers a timeless message of hope, unity, and identity. It reminds us who we are in Christ — chosen, loved, and called to live as people of grace. This short but powerful book invites us to step back from the noise of the world and root ourselves again in love — the kind that transforms hearts, relationships, and communities. It’s a letter written to the early church, but it speaks powerfully into the world we live in now: fractured by politics, exhaustion, and anxiety, yet still called to “walk worthy of the calling” and “put on the full armor of God.”

About the Study

We’ll meet virtually every Monday evening at 7 PM via Google Meet — so you can join from anywhere, with a cup of tea or your Bible in hand. Two in-person gatherings will also be offered for fellowship, shared meals, and hands-on service.

Schedule & Themes

Week 1 – December 1: Ephesians 1 – Identity in Christ — Who are we really, and what defines us in a world full of labels?

Week 2 – December 8: Ephesians 2 – Grace & New Life — We are saved by grace — not by performance. What does that mean for how we treat others?

Week 3 – December 15: Ephesians 3 – Rooted in Love — Exploring the deep roots of Christ’s love that strengthen us when life feels unstable.

Week 4 – December 22: Ephesians 4 – Unity in the Body — In-person gathering with potluck dinner and community service project (writing “Pauline” letters and cards of encouragement to our nursing home friends).

<Break for the Holidays>

Week 5 – January 5 (The Day Before Epiphany): Ephesians 5 & 6 – Imitating Christ and the Full Armor of God — Learning what it means to stand firm in faith and walk as children of light.

Week 6 – Date TBA: Ephesians Overview: What’s Next? — In-person dinner served by Pastor TJ, including Communion (location to be announced).

An Open Invitation

You don’t have to belong to our church to belong in this study. If you’re seeking a community that listens, learns, and grows together — this is for you. Join us as we open the pages of Ephesians, rediscover our identity in Christ, and explore what it means to be a church that lives rooted in love, strengthened in spirit, and united in hope.
